A Sunshine State Shabbat Dessert

It has really been hot here in the south.
I decided to make a cool dessert for Shabbat.

Lemon Icebox Pie is a super easy recipe, and can be whipped up in no time =)

What you need:
  • 1 package (8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3/4 cup lemonade concentrate (or any flavor)
  • 1 carton (8 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • 2 graham cracker crust (8-9 inches)
  • large bowl
  • spatula

The first thing you want to do, is beat the cream cheese until it is smooth.

Next, gradually beat in the sweetened condensed milk until it is blended well.

Now, beat in the lemonade concentrate.
and then
Fold in whipped topping...

That's it! Now just pour into your pie crust, cover and refrigerate, until set.

The original recipe calls for only one pie crust. I found we had enough for two :D

It's Dinnertime!

I am in charge of Tuesday night dinners in our home and sometimes it gets postponed or we end up doing leftovers or something, so please bear with me. I thought it would be fun to post my menu each week. If others would like to join me, that would be very nice. (It's OK if your Dinnertime Day is different than mine.)

I try to plan my meals a day ahead, pull out any meat from the freezer, and ask my Mom if she has any other plans for the food I want to use. Also I use things that we already have on hand. If you want any recipes just let me know and I will post them.

Here is my menu for this week:

Melon Mint Salad

Grilled Chicken Sausage

Sweet Potato Chips

A patchwork bag project

Shalom! My name is Bridget and I have just joined TKM. I am 12 years old and live in Australia. I have 2 brothers aged 7 and 5. We live on a little property with 10 goats, 4 hens, 2 cats and 1 dog.

This is a bag that I made. It was the first project at my sewing class. I take sewing for 2 hours each week. I am mostly learning patchwork.

I am currently working on this quillow. A quillow is a small quilt that folds into a pocket attached to the back
turning it into a pillow when it is not in use.
I will post more photos when it is finished. I am glad to be part of Torah Keeping Maidens!

Dog Training Maiden

Did you know that owning a pet can prolong your life expectancy up to 3 years? To make those enjoyable, some training might be useful. Do you know how to train a dog? Well, I didn't know how to either, until now...

Why is it important to train your dog? From Scripture, we understand that Yahweh is pleased when things are done in order... "But everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way." ~1 Cor. 14:40 and Col. 3:23 says "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for YHWH, not for men..." so this is why I think training our pets is a good thing.

Here are a couple of "rules" to start with...

Always remember to use positive reinforcement, and be firm, but loving.
And never underestimate your dogs ability to learn.
